(LOS ANGELES) With great anticipation, Lovingood Studios has launched it's private beta of Lovingood Filmfund and Lovingood Filmclub. In a blog post published by studio founder Marcus Lovingood, he writes:
"We've all been there. We've written our script, recruited our crew and may have a B-list or two attached to our dream movie. Everything is set to make your Academy Award winning movie, when all of a sudden you're missing an essential part....the money.
You learn very quickly how important budgeting is when making a movie and the options for us independent filmmakers are EXTREMELY bleak. Without a rich uncle to connections to a handfull of dumb trust fund babies, you're stuck with Kickstarter or an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds. And that just sucks. Royally.
I have dont COUNTLESS crowdfunding campaigns with the giants and always dread the entire process from start to finish. Why do I have to all of a sudden be a seasoned t-shirt designer? Keychain welder? The madness is more than one can take. The fact is, filmmakers were never meant to do anything else other then make films, yet the finacial restraints of today force the artsy director into wearing more hats than nessisary, ultimately compromising the integrity of the film's artistic direction. So what's the point?!
We have spent the last 5 years in internet and social media distirbution of films at my digital advertising agency, Futureleap Media, and we found some strikingly interesting information form the data on millionf of monie fans. The fact is, people jsut want to watch what they want, when and where they want it...and in under 4 clicks. You may think we are inherit shoppers, but how many t-shirts of your favorite movie do you have? Not many, so we threw that shit out...along with everythign else (the posters, the signed headshots, everything). Don't get us wrong, we see the value of merchandising (Walt Disney knew this was the key to his empire early on), but not before your audience can see your brilliance first...then give them the opportunity to buy your Tee."

Lovingood Filmfund is looking to launch it's crowdsale sometime this month, issuing 101,000 digital TIX to the first ticket buyers who's looking to get in on the action.
