It is just one month out from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah and the team at Lovingood Studios is getting ready to unveil a new and exciting addition to the internet film world: The first digital currency based movie studio and crowdfunding platform. Marcus Lovingood, the company's founder and creative director is determined to make this new innovation a staple in not only crowdfunding for films, but in online film finance and distribution as a whole.

The concept is simple. Instead of making filmmakers go through the arduous trouble of gathering merchandise and "perks" for their crowdfunding campaign (hoping it's product its network are even going to want to buy) and effectively launching an online marketplace/fundraiser for a film that hasn't even been made, FILMFUND only requires the filmmaker to issue $5 digital "TICKETS" to their film. The ticket is good for one VOD rental of the movie once it's made. This removes 99% of the typical upstart process and gets the project going 70% quicker than traditional crowdfunding methods. It's hard enough for regular ecommerce startups to make creative and successful product lines to launch into the market, let alone filmmakers with little to no MBA Business management skills. The founders at Lovingood Studios feel this is a solution that will go far.

The company is still in stealth mode and will not be launching a beta version until the spring, but you can find out more about the film fund by watching this video below:
